Who was Nelson Mandela?

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid activist, political prisoner, and the country’s first Black President from 1994 to 1999. He was born on 18th July 1918 and spent most of his life fighting against racial discrimination and inequality. Due to his struggle against apartheid, he remained in prison for 27 years. After his release, he worked for peace and unity and later became the first Black president of South Africa. Today, Nelson Mandela is remembered as a symbol of courage, justice, and equality throughout the world.
