MUSIC

1ST PLACE – by Vaibhav Tyohar

He has a powerful tone of voice and intonation that creates an atmosphere of tranquility and enlightening. It has a catchy melody and the lyrics are meaningful. This music conveys inner peace as a journey of ups and downs but you have to keep moving forward. All these elements connect with the concept of inner peace that UNESCO BMW drives.

2ND PLACE –  by Jhanvi Patnaik

Her voice is very beautiful by appealing to serenity and peace but in our opinion, it lacks background music and strength in her voice. The lyrics come from an authentic place and culture which makes it valuable. Overall, this devotional contributes to the idea of inner peace as a way of thinking and acting and being more aware of your surroundings

Painting

1ST PLACE – EMBRACE – by Aleena Khan

The hand drawing from the painter is impressive alongside her compromise with the piece, working over 6th months in total to express her concept of inner peace through the wisdom of past generations. The peace is really unique and conveys the deep meaning of the inner piece both, literally and methodically.

2ND PLACE – GRANDCHILD AND GRANDFATHER – by Cheung Ying Tan

It shows how inner peace goes through from time to time, through generations showing love and wisdom. How past experiences build the future.

2ND PLACE – a person passing through a tunnel by Seokwoo Matt Byun

Even in the most unfortunate situations we can find peace. That’s the little quote that came to our mind when we saw this picture. It has a nice framing and quality and looks like a flashback or a dream. A very meaningful description comes with the picture. For us this image shows a state of transition into darkness and confusion to acceptance, resilience and finally the desire of inner peace.

Poetry

1ST PLACE – I deserve to be by Kanishtha Kharga

It has a clear and poetic meaning of peace in all its shapes and colors. It has a well-built structure and verses that allows you to follow the flow of this poem without losing its own tone; compassion and understanding.

Peace

is not a room full of laughter.

It is not a room full of people who will hold me close

It is a quiet evening, where it is just me, myself and I.

Where I don’t have to rehearse what to say, or fear what I didn’t.

Peace

is sitting alone

without worrying about being abandoned.

It is the silence that doesn’t ask to be explained.

It lies in knowing, that I do not always need to give in order to receive.

It lies in having the confidence to know that I won’t be left behind if I don’t try.

Peace

is being able to be tired without calling myself weak.

It is needing rest without feeling the guilt.

It lies in the trust

that I matter

even when I get quiet

even when I don’t feel needed

even when I choose myself.

And maybe, peace

is simply

being alive

without constantly proving

that I deserve to be.

2ND PLACE – A Quiet I Keep by Arnav Nair

This poem uses a variety of figurative languages to convey and highlight how inner peace can’t be found in a certain place but rather inner peace is found within yourself. The poet’s concept of inner peace matches with the UNESCO concepts.

A Quiet I Keep
Even when I’m still, my thoughts fly at miles per hour,
Before they land, a thousand voices clash and shout.
I try to hold them back with force and power,
Until I learn they’re not the ones to throw out.
I’ve come to see my thoughts don’t need control,
At their own will, they come and go with ease.
The more they gather, the calmer grows my soul,
And peace comes to the place where fears are released.
No need to cage my restless, racing mind
Peace will slip in as the thoughts finally cease.
It’s not a prize, but something undefined,
A quiet emotion, a gentle kind of peace.
Silence is no longer empty—it’s my friend,
A space I visit when the noise won’t fade.
Within that calm, I finally comprehend—
The peace I sought was always self-made.
