This day, observed on April 2nd each year, holds significant importance in fostering creativity, imagination, and learning among children worldwide.

International Children’s Book Day was established by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) in 1967 to promote international understanding through children’s books. The date, April 2nd, was chosen to honor the birthday of renowned Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, known for his timeless fairy tales and stories that continue to captivate young readers.

We collaborate with libraries to host interactive events such as storytelling sessions and book reading activities aimed at engaging youth and children in the world of literature. These initiatives not only promote a love for reading but also foster creativity, empathy, and cultural understanding among young minds. Additionally, we have released a variety of publications, including literature tailored specifically for young readers. UNESCO BMW’s involvement underscores the importance of nurturing imagination and promoting wellness through the power of books, aligning perfectly with the spirit of International Children’s Book Day.

UNESCO BMW’s Vision

Our vision mission encompasses three main goals that are also in line with this occasion today and engage people of all ages, especially the youth improvement of the inner ecosystem, enhancement of inner creativity through arts and crafts, and, lastly, encouragement of inner peace globally.
