UNESCO Body & Mind Wellness Club & The Inner Peace Competition

One of the ways to feel peace inside us is by materializing the concept. Imagine it with
shapes, colors and sensitivity of our senses. Give it an entity by offering it a physical space.
From this vision, the Inner Peace becomes an energy that contains its own frequency,
capable of enveloping us, flooding the place we inhabit, extending its limits, traveling
through places and embracing the world. A Peace that comes to life, that in contact with
others, gratifies us, makes us powerful and sensitive at the same time; enters the body and
settles in the heart vibrating in harmony.

Conclusion:

This plastic project moves me because it intensifies the presence of children in art. They
thus become social actors involved with reality and becoming aware of it. From this
perspective of involvement, small artists use everyday reality, interpersonal relationships
and the environment, to develop aesthetic practices. The child, hand in hand with art, finds
an opportunity to transform the world.

Selected works by: ADRIANA REZZA GRABADORA

To select the works, artist Ms. Adriana Rezza Grabadora organized three age groups (4-5,
6-8 and 9-12). From each, select a job. All participants revealed the idea of peace showing
the relationship between man and nature.
These selected works demonstrate the children’s understanding of peace and their ability to
express it through art. They not only depict the concept of inner peace but also emphasize
the importance of peace in our interactions with nature and each other. Congratulations to
all the participants for their inspiring and thought-provoking contributions.
You all deserve to be selected and we congratulate you for your great work.
We are very grateful and happy for the call; We feel part of this project.

The selected Works for this Nov. 2023 are:

Painting Competition:

First place: Lau Chuen

“I was challenged by the attitude of the figure, which, despite its centrality, destroys the
composition and provides an air of freedom. The inclusions of elements around the boy
speak of the connection of men and the world. The white background and the subordination
of warm colors provide light and contrasts to the plastic space. Blue as dominant reinforces
the concept of peace. Lau knows how to create an atmosphere of relaxation and
communion.” By Adriana

Second place: Angelo Chan

“There is a very interesting game between the flamingos and the two children. They are
arranged in the scene in a particular way, expressing enjoyment, harmony and calm. In the
image a state of reciprocity with nature is established. Inner peace can be smelled in the air.
The pastel palette and the contours in the shapes enrich the concept.” By Adriana

Poem Competition:

1st Place Poem: “Serenity Within”

In the silence of the mind, whispers soft and slow, A tranquil river flowing where emotions
gently go. Beneath the azure sky of thoughts, a peaceful stream, Reflections of resilience, a
mindful, tranquil dream.

Amidst the chaos, a garden blooms, colors bright, Petals of acceptance, embracing the healing
light. In the sanctuary of solitude, where shadows cease, I find the serenity within, the sacred
space of inner peace.

Breathe in the calm, exhale the storms that cease, For in the quietude of self, I find my sanctuary,
my release.

2nd Place Poem: “Miss-Understood”

In a world where judgments abound,
“Miss-understood,” the whispers sound,
“Sit with your legs closed,” they insist.
But can we break free from this persist?
“What are you wearing?” they question, concerned.
For decency’s cloak, they expect it to be adorned.
“No late night parties,” they solemnly declare,
Society’s watchful eyes in the midnight air.
“You can’t change society, change yourself,” they proclaim.

But in their words, is there not a shred of blame?
For why should a woman alone bear the weight
Of family respect, an unjust fate?

Within our hearts, where judgments cease,
Lie the seeds of peace, the roots of release.
Let not society alone bear the blame,
For within us lies the power to reclaim.
In being unapologetically true to our grace,
Resides the serenity of our innermost space.

Discover, within, the tranquil sea,
Where inner peace reigns, unbound and free.
Don’t seek to change the world’s decree,
Find in yourself the key to be free.
For inner peace blossoms in our soul’s embrace,
In a world insistent on setting its pace.

Photo Competition:

1st Place: Aadit Chopra

In this captivating image, the amalgamation of rocks and lush green grass within a confined space offers a poignant portrayal of the delicate interplay between the natural and the man-made. The stoic presence of the rocks, resilient and enduring, stands in stark contrast to the vibrant, verdant tapestry of the grass, symbolizing life and growth. The enclosed area adds a layer of contemplation, emphasizing the harmony and beauty that can flourish within limitations. It prompts reflection on the coexistence of stability and vitality, encouraging a deeper exploration of resilience and flourishing even within the constraints of defined boundaries.
