Yaldā Night, Open House Dec 15 , 3-7PM

an ancient festival celebrated in Iran and other historically Iranian-influenced regions

We celebrate Yalda, the winter solstice, a time when friends and family gather together to eat, drink and read poetry.

Let’s celebrate, the longest and darkest night of the year with Iranian artists: Photography: Roya Ansarian and Photo painting: Sarah Barzmehri

Sarah Saghar Barzmehri studied fine arts at Paris school of fine arts in France, and Graphic Design at University of Maryland Baltimore county (UMBC). For more than 20 years, she has organized art exhibitions and events for Iranian and non-Iranian artists in the Washington DC area to promote contemporary art and culture.

Pomegranate, persimmon, watermelon and nuts are eaten.  The red color in these fruits symbolizes the crimson hues of dawn and glow of life.

We will also have a richly decorated Yalda table along with an exhibition of photography with traditional women’s clothing.

See you all in our UNESCO BMW in Downtown Frederick: 129 W. Patrick St. Suite 15!

Please spread the word for this cultural initiative. Thanks 😊
