My name is Steffano Vilchez, I am a senior in high school in Frederick, MD, and I play the trombone.
Ever since I was in elementary school, I’ve always wanted to play the trombone. I saw the people who came to advertise the instruments to the elementary schoolers, and I fell in love with the trombone the moment I saw it.
In high school, I joined the Academy for the Fine Arts, and the TJ marching band. In the Academy for the Fine Arts, I learned about what being a part of a community means, and in the TJ Marching band, I learned about the importance of listening.
To me, music is one of the most important forms of expression, and the arts act as the soul of the human race.
