About the Artist

I’m Liudmyla Verdier. I’ve been working in one of the FCPS. Also, I’m a Sahaja Yoga practitioner and Silk Flower Artistry Designer. For a person who works 5 days a week, making crafts is relaxation, psychological balance, and tremendous joy. I’ve always been about crafts, sewing, and embroidery. Once, on the internet, I saw silk flowers. I could not believe my eyes that they were made out of silk. I found Somebana, a Japanese school of silk flower making, and took classes. That’s how my silk flower-making journey started.
Magic happens when I touch a piece of pure silk, paint it with silk dyes, and press with millinery tools parts flower. It comes from within.
Another exciting thing about silk flower making is that this artistry can be expressed in different forms. If you want to decorate your house you can make a bouquet of flowers. A nice finish touch to an outfit or look accounts for a flower brooch, headpiece, or corsage.
To make silk flowers we use:
❖ Fine silk fabric (charmeuse, organza, satin, fine cotton, linen)
❖ Silk painting dyes
❖ Wire
❖ Soft glue and hard glue
To wrap up, here’s another video of flower making that shows how the flower piece is being created.
